I tried fiddling around with what I knew to set up a new leg rig that combines IK / Fk switching with a modified reverse foot, for the better part i appears to be working, but I've probably a few tweaks left until I get it just right.

Rigging!
With some feedback from Micah Zahm I've adjusted the FK spine to allow our animators to have more control over it, while still retaining the functionality of the previous iteration.
So the new rig is done it just needs to be tested for any glitches, here's a brief overview of the capabilities.
This is the foot controller with some of the features on the rig.
Preview of the Ik/FK arm system with a 50% blend. It also has the ability to align one system with the other, so it won't pop when you blend between systems.

Finished Rig
So It's done, at least done enough to be tested and broken.
I'll just have to write up some documentation later.

Rigging!
Thanks to some delicious concept art from Marissa Rawlings, and Michelle Pecoraro, I get some fun characters to rig for our team. Here's the very beginnings of Takoda's rig.
